Asphalt Processing Plant Introduction

Asphalt processing plants vary widely in scale and level of technology. They range from plants producing one or two tonnes per day using low-cost manual technologies, to plants of a thousand tonnes per day that are highly mechanized and capable of producing different types and grades of gypsum plaster or plaster boards.

Asphalt production is mainly processed in five stages: quarrying, crushing, screening, grinding and heating. Many different types of processing equipment involved in these operations such as quarrying machine, mining equipment, crushing machine, screening plant, grinding mill, rotary kiln etc.

SBM developed complete range of Asphalt processing plant in Philippines, India, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Malaysia, Ghana, Nigeria etc.

Asphalt Crushing Plant

Crushing the asphalt rock is important before processing further, especially if subsequent heating is to be done in a pan rather than a shaft kiln. Crushing will ensure a product which is more uniform and requires less energy to heat.

Asphalt crushing can be processed in three step according to final product applications: primary crushing, secondary crushing and tertiary crushing. Crushing should reduce the asphalt to grains of less than a few millimetres across. Asphalt sand does not need crushing.

The often applied asphalt crushing machine includes jaw crusher, hammer crusher, gyratory crusher, impact crusher, cone crusher and mobile crusher etc.

Asphalt Grinding Mill

Asphalt grinding can be processed in a ball mill, rod mill, or hammer mill, is necessary if the gypsum is to be used for high quality plasterwork or for moulding, medical, or industrial applications. Unlike with other cements, such as lime and Ordinary Portland Cement, special mills for mineral grinding may not be required and the relatively soft gypsum could be pulverised in agricultural mills, which are generally widely available.

Asphalt Recycling Equipment

Our mobile asphalt recycling plants are designed for recycling ahphalt and concrete mateirals millings and broken chunk into quality hot mix asphalt. Our asphalt plants can also produce virgin asphalt, cold patch and permanent pavement material. The recycling equipment vary by machine from 1-5 ton per batch. Our continual feed recyclers also produce high performance cold patch at rates over 15tph. Our mobile recycling plants can also be set up for static production. Some units include a heated asphalt tack tank, with heated spray wand, conveyor loading and or conveyor discharge.
